Application
ACSR/AW AAAC ACAR AASC ACSR AAC conductor consists of a solid or stranded steel core surrounded by strands of aluminium.ACSR/AW AAAC ACAR AASC ACSR AAC Bare core is available ina range of steel strengths varying from 6% up to 40%. The higher strength conductor are used for river crossings,overhead earth wires,and installations involving extra long spans.Against any given resistance of conductor, ACSR/AW AAAC ACAR AASC ACSR AAC conductor may be manufactured to have different tensile strengths as per requirement. The principal advantage of these conductors are their high tensile strength and light weight, covering longer spans with less supports. Due to the greater diameter of an Aluminium conductor steel reinforced ACSR/AW AAAC ACAR AASC ACSR AAC conductor much higher corona limit can be obtained, giving a big advantage on high and extra high voltage overhead lines

1 . Weights are calculated using ASTM standard increments of stranding,
2 . Rated strengths are calculated by ASTM methods and converted to metric units after rounding,
3 . Resistance is calculated using ASTM standard increments of stranding, and metal conductivities of 61.2% IACS for EC (1350) and 8", IACS for steel,
4 . Current ratings are based on 50 Hz AC, 75 0 C conductor temperature, and 0.61 m/s (2 ft/s) wind. 0.5 coefficients of emissivity and absorption, Temperate rating -250 C ambient, 1000 watts/sq. meter sun. tropical rating – 40 0 C ambient. 1200 watts/sq meter sun.
