Product Description
1.Construction of ACSR :
Conductor: Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced,Aluminum+Steel Conductor
Generally, ACSR conductor consists of a solid or stranded (7or19 wires)steel core surrounded by concentric layers of aluminum (E.C.GRADE).
2.Protection against corrosion of ACSR :
Steel Core wire for ACSR is available with class A, B, or C galvanizing(GA,GB,GC); aluminized,aluminum wrapped, aluminum coated Or aluminum-clad (AW).A coating of non-oxidizing grease is normally applied to the steel cores of all conductors, in addition to the protection offered by the galvanizing of the steel wires. One or more layers of the aluminium wires can, if required, be upplied partially or fully greased.
3.Application of ACSR :
1).Transmission and distribution line of electric power ,which had large span.
2).Transmission and distribution line of electric power with high and very high voltage.
3).Electric power distribution line from Power Station to subcities.
4.Advantages of ACSR:
The principal advantage of these conductors are high tensile strength and light weight with longer spans as well as with lesser supports.ACSR provides optimal strength for line design.Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity. Due to the greater diameter of ACSR CONDUCTORS a much higher corona limit can be obtained causing big advantages on high as well as extra high voltage overhead lines.

ACSR Conductor is available in a wide range of steel varying from as low as 6% to as high as 40 %. ACSR Conductor may be manufactured for having a wide range of tensile strength,varying steel core stranding number. When a conductor with a highcurrent carrying capacity and comparatively low strength is required, special constructions areavailable with high aluminum content.
